Now airing in LA on STAR 98.7

In an age of instant gratification and cell phones, "Lost Angeles" explores the lives of Gen-X'ers as adults trying to find love, happiness and themselves, while under the cover of the "electric lights" that keep them from seeing their true potential.

This slice of life comedy by New York playwright Caroline Treadwell proves to show that there is hope yet for that generation of overeducated and underachieving slackers; a generation of cynical skeptics very different from their baby boomer parents.

Find youself. Or someone better.

AMERICAN STUDIO THEATER is a not-for-profit theater company dedicated to producing vibrant, compelling works, both classical and contemporary, and to sharing them with a broad audience. Founded in 1998 by members of the graduating class of Carnegie Mellon University and the Moscow Art Theatre School’s M.F.A. program, AST produced theater in New York before relocating to Los Angeles in early 2007. New York productions include MEASURE FOR MEASURE (1999), THE TROJAN WOMEN (2000), TROILUS AND CRESSIDA (2001), A DREAM PLAY (2002), THE TEMPEST (2003), RICHARD III (2003), A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (2004), AS YOU LIKE IT (2005), THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR (2006) and TWELFTH NIGHT (2007). In addition to classical theatre, AST has produced works by new and emerging local and international playwrights, and, through its guest artist program, has collaborated with some of New York’s finest musicians, dancers, filmmakers and performance artists. LOST ANGELES is AST's first production in L.A.

Founded in 2000 by Joe Camareno and Jeff Folschinsky, PlayGrounds, Ink!, LLC started in the entertainment industry as a writer-based Production Company, producing everything from the classics to original works by up and coming playwrights. With an emphasis on the writer and their work, Playgrounds, Ink! was set up to seek out new works and to produce and promote quality stories from multiple genres.

Many of the productions under the PlayGrounds, Ink! monicker have been critically-acclaimed box office hits. Some of these include, DELIA'S SONG, EXMAGARE, KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN, A WEEKEND NEAR MADISON, BANG & THE CLATTER, TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA, THE FIREBUGS, AMBITION, TONY MORLANDO & THE NEW DAWN (6 productions), and the box office smash-hit, THE UNSINKABLE BISMARCK. PlayGrounds, Ink! is known mainly for producing new works, but when taking on a revival, it is always presented in a fresh and innovative way.

The company has since branched out into film and television, with the comedy short CUP O' JOE in 2004. Originally written as a television pilot, CUP O' JOE was re-tooled as a short film. It was penned by Joe Camareno and Kurt Patino and directed by Dale Fabrigar.

The featurette MEMOIRS, a WWII era story is now post-production and will premiere early 2008. It is based on Camareno's stage play, Delia's Song which garnered favorable reviews in the 2000-2001 theater season in Los Angeles, CA.

Our first venture into the world of podcasting has proven to be a lucrative one. VIRGIN FALLS won the 2006 Parsec Award in the Best Audio Production category. The show premiered April 1, 2006. Virgin Falls is the brain-child of Camareno, with Season 1 having been written by Jeff Folschinsky and Ken Patton. The first season consisted of 10 episodes. Each episode runs between 10 and 15 minutes in length. We are especially proud of the fact that we have made history by premiering the show in both English and Spanish! Virgin Falls en Espanol premiered November 2006. Season 2 of Virgin Falls will premiere late fall 2007.

Both versions of Virgin Falls are available as an RSS feed and can be found on iTunes at the Apple website: www.apple. com. The shows are also available at our official Virgin Falls website at: www.playgrounds-ink.com/virginfalls.

Pasiones Obsesionantes / Haunting Passions is next on our production schedule. Pasiones is a "Mexican" telenovella in English. The story consists 12, 6 minute episodes and will premiere on the web in late fall 2007. It features an incredible cast including Ruth Livier, Daniel Billet & Mauricio Mendoza.

We at PlayGrounds, Ink! are proud of the work done over the last year and a half in development of the script for LOST ANGELES. As with previous new works produced by us, much of the emphasis has been on the writer and the importance of her words and vision.

Folschinsky is a full-time sound designer and published playwright.

Camareno is a full-time actor, playwright, screenwriter and voice over artist.
